Strabag to construct Cable-stayed bridge in Western Romania

Austrian constructor Strabag has been commissioned to build a 640m cable-stayed bridge across the river Someș in the western Romanian city of Satu Mare in a project worth around EUR30 million.

Construction work is scheduled to start in May 2020. The bridge will connect the north and south of Satu Mare and is to relieve the volume of traffic on the existing Decebal Bridge. The contract also includes the construction of two viaducts and two adjacent roundabouts.
