Architect Vittorio Gregotti passes away due to Covid-19

Vittorio Gregotti, an Italian architect who helped design the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics stadium passed away on Sunday, March 15 at the age of 92, following the contraction of Covid-19.

Famous for his stadium designs, Gregotti also designed the Merassi stadium in Genoa for the 1990 World Cup as well as the Arcimboldi Opera Theatre in Milan, a futuristic structure built to allow the season to continue while La Scala underwent renovation in 2002-2004.
